Broadway in the Desert – Tuacahn Center for the Arts

Written by Laura Irvine, Word Processer

Living in St. George we are lucky to have access to Broadway Musicals without having the hassle of

traveling to New York. If you are not from this area, you might not know that I am talking about

Tuacahn Amphitheatre (www.tuacahn.org) nestled amongst the red rocks in Ivins, Utah near Snow

Canyon State Park.

So far, my experience has been limited, but includes concerts of: Foreigner, Styx, Air Supply, Gladys

Knight, and Charlie Daniels and musical productions of: The Music Man, The Lion King, Cats (twice!), and

just recently Thriller. Anybody who has gone to a concert or musical knows that the location of seats is

important. I soon discovered that there really is NO bad seat at Tuacahn.

Every time I attend, I am in awe. Not only the breathtaking scenery, but also with the wonderful talent

we have in Southern Utah and those professionals who grace us with their performances.
