Are My Ears On Straight?
I’m a little doll who was dropped and broken Falling off my mommy’s knee I’m a little doll who has just been mended Now won’t you tell me please. Are My Ears On Straight, Is my nose in place Have I got a cute expression on my face? Are my blue eyes bright, Do I look all right? To be taken home Christmas Day? When I first came here, Just a month ago. Brought in by a little girl who loved my so. She began to cry, ‘Til they told her I Could be taken home Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is drawing nearer, And I’m getting scared Wish I could see in a mirror, How I’ve been repaired. I’ll be called for soon, But I’m worried so Will she love me like she did a month ago. Are My Ears On Straight? I can hardly wait. To be taken home Christmas Day
Angels We Have Heard on High
Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o’er the plains, And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains. Gloria in excelsis Deo. Gloria in excelsis Deo. Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be Which inspire your heav’nly song? Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
Away in a Manger
Away in a manger, no crib for his bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head; The stars in the heavens looked down where he lay, The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing; the poor baby wakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes. I love thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay Close by me forever, and love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children in thy tender care, And fit us for heaven to live with thee there.
Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella
Bring a torch, Jeannette, Isabella, Bring a torch, come hurry and run. It is Jesus, good folk of the village, Christ is born, and Mary’s calling, Ah! Ah! Beautiful is the Mother. Ah! Ah! Beautiful is her Son. Skies are glowing, the night is cloudless, Skies are glowing, come rise from your beds. Hasten all who would see the dear Christ Child, Shining and bright as yon lone star. Run! Run! Put on your finest garments. Run! Run! Presents for Jesus bring. It is wrong, when the Baby is sleeping, It is wrong to cry out so loud; Silence, all, as you come near the stable, Lest your noise should waken Jesus. Hush! Hush! Peacefully now He slumbers. Hush! Hush! Peacefully now He sleeps. Softly to the little stable, Softly in a moment come; Look and see how charming is Jesus How he is white, his cheeks are rosey! Hush! Hush! See how the child is sleeping. Hush! Hush! See how he smiles in his dreams.
When I was but a youngster, Christmas meant one thing, That I’d be getting lots of toys that day. I learned a whole lot different, When my Mother sat me down, And taught me to spell Christmas this way: “C” is for the Christ child, born upon this day, “H” for herald angels in the night, “R” means our Redeemer, “I” means Israel, “S” is for the star that shone so bright, “T” is for three wise men, they who traveled far, “M” is for the manger where he lay, “A”’s for all He stands for, “S” means shepherds came, And that’s why there’s a Christmas day.
Deck the Halls
Deck the halls with boughs of holly Fa la la la la la la la la ‘Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la la Don we now our gay apparel, Fa la la la la la la la la Troll the ancient Yuletide carol, Fa la la la la la la la la.
DO You Hear What I hear?
Said the night wind to the little lamb, do you see what I see Way up in the sky, little lamb, do you see what I see A star, a star, dancing in the night With a tail as big as a kite With a tail as big as a kite Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy, do you hear what I hear Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy, do you hear what I hear A song, a song, high above the trees With a voice as big as the sea With a voice as big as the sea Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king, do you know what I know In your palace warm, mighty king, do you know what I know A Child, a Child shivers in the cold Let us bring Him silver and gold Let us bring Him silver and gold Said the king to the people everywhere, listen to what I say Pray for peace, people everywhere! listen to what I say The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night He will bring us goodness and light He will bring us goodness and light
Far, Far Away on Judea’s Plains
Far, far away on Judea’s plains, Shepherds of old heard the joyous strains: [Chorus] Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to God in the highest; Peace on earth, goodwill to men; Peace on earth, goodwill to men! Sweet are these strains of redeeming love, Message of mercy from heav’n above: Lord, with the angels we too would rejoice; Help us to sing with the heart and voice: Hasten the time when, from ev’ry clime, Men shall unite in the strains sublime:
The First Noel
The first Noel the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay, In fields where they lay keeping their sheep On a cold winter’s night that was so deep. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel! Born is the King of Israel! They looked up and saw a star Shining in the East beyond them far, And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel! Born is the King of Israel!
Frosty The Snowman
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul With a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale they say He was made of snow but the children know how he came to life one day There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found For when they placed it on his head he began to dance around O Frosty the snowman was alive as he could be And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me Thumpetty thump thump thumpety thump thump Look at Frosty go Thumpetty thump thump thumpety thump thump Over the hills of snow Frosty the snowman knew the sun was hot that day So he said “Let’s run and we’ll have some fun now before I melt away” Down to the village with a broomstick in his hand Running here and there all around the square saying Catch me if you can He led them down the streets of town right to the traffic cop And he only paused a moment when he heard him holler “Stop!” For Frosty the snow man had to hurry on his way But he waved goodbye saying “Don’t you cry I’ll be back again some day ” Thumpetty thump thump thumpety thump thump Look at Frosty go Thumpetty thump thump thumpety thump thump Over the hills of snow
Hark! the Herald Angels Sing
Hark! the herald angels sing Glory to the newborn King! Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled! Joyful, all ye nations, rise; Join the triumph of the skies; With th’angelic host proclaim Christ is born in Bethlehem! Hark! the herald angels sing Glory to the newborn King! Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all he brings, Ris’n with healing in his wings. Mild he lays his glory by, Born that man no more may die; Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth. Hark! the herald angels sing Glory to the newborn King!
Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
Have a holly, jolly Christmas; It’s the best time of the year I don’t know if there’ll be snow, but have a cup of cheer. Have a holly, jolly Christmas; And when you walk down the street Say Hello to friends you know and ev’ryone you meet. Oh, ho, the mistletoe hung where you can see; Somebody waits for you; Kiss her once for me. Have a holly jolly Christmas, and in case you didn’t hear, Oh by golly, have a holly, jolly Christmas this year!
Here Comes Santa Claus
Here comes Santa Claus! Here comes Santa Claus! Right down Santa Claus Lane! Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer are pulling on the reins. Bells are ringing, children singing; All is merry and bright. Hang your stockings and say your prayers, ‘Cause Santa Claus comes tonight. Here comes Santa Claus! Here comes Santa Claus! Right down Santa Claus Lane! He’s got a bag that is filled with toys for the boys and girls again. Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle, What a beautiful sight. Jump in bed, cover up your head, ‘Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.
He Sent His Son
How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness? He sent his Son, a newborn babe, with peace and holiness. How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go? He sent his Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know. How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death? He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath. What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way. What does he ask? Live like his Son.
He’s Too Fat For the Chimney
He’s too fat for the chimney Too fat for the chimney So open the door and let poor santa claus in There’s no room for his tummy Please do something mummy Without Santa Claus O how can Christmas begin? I don’t see how i’ll get the presents I’ve been looking for I knew while sittin’ on his lap in that department store that he’d have troubles by jimney He’s too fat for the chimney So open the door and let poor Santa Claus in.
If Santa were my Daddy
If Santa were my Daddy I’d be good Every single day of the year I bet you think I couldn’t do it Yeah I could With such a jolly gentleman so near I’d always try to be the kind of boy Santa’d want his son to be Helpful and friendly Especially when he had his twinkling eye on me I would dress exactly like my Daddy I would learn to laugh his “Ho ho ho”‘s Maybe he would even teach me how to fly My little finger aside of my nose And maybe I would grow a snow white beard And try to learn to turn with a jerk Then finally when all the Clause’s disappear My Daddy would retire from his work And I would be the one to take his place Spreading all the Christmas joy I’d be more than willing, Wow, would it be thrilling If only I were Santa’s boy And I would be the one to take his place Spreading all the Christmas joy I’d be more than willing, Wow, would it be thrilling If only I were Santa’s boy
I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
I heard the bells on Christmas day Their old familiar carols play And mild and sweet the words repeat, Of peace on earth, good will to men. I thought how as the day had come, The belfries of all Christendom Had roll’d along th’ unbroken song Of peace on earth, good will to men. And in despair I bow’d my head: “There is no peace on earth,” I said, “For hate is strong, and mocks the song Of peace on earth, good will to men.” Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: “God is not dead, nor doth He sleep; The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, With peace on earth, good will to men.” ‘Til ringing, singing on its way, The world revolved from night to day, A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, Of peace on earth, good will to men!
It Came upon the Midnight Clear
It came upon the midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth To touch their harps of gold: “Peace on the earth, good will to men From heav’n’s all-gracious King.” The world in solemn stillness lay To hear the angels sing. Still thru the cloven skies they come With peaceful wings unfurled, And still their heav’nly music floats O’er all the weary world. Above its sad and lowly plains They bend on hov’ring wing, And ever o’er its babel sounds The blessed angels sing. For lo! the days are hast’ning on, By prophets seen of old, When with the ever-circling years Shall come the time foretold, When the new heav’n and earth shall own The Prince of Peace their King, And the whole world send back the song Which now the angels sing.
It’s the Day before the Night Before Christmas
It’s the Day before the Night Before Christmas And I’m busy, busy, busy being good, On the day before the night before Christmas, Gonna do everything a good girl should! I’m making up a list about ten pages long, I’m on page ten now, and still going strong, It’s the Day before the night before Christmas and I’m busy, busy, busy, being good!! Whistle It’s the day…. I’m making up a list about ten pages long, I’m on page ten now, and still going strong, It’s the Day before the night before Christmas But to do everything I ought to do, Clean’n up and brushing up, and washing my ears, Hey a day isn’t long enough, it’ll take years! It’s the day before the night before Christmas, I guess what’s gonna be, is gonna be… You can’t fool St. Nick – He’s too slick To fall for all the falderal and all of your tricks, On the day before the night before Christmas, it’s no good being good for a day! (I’ve learned something) No good being good for a day! (Be good for nothing!) Just be good, and he’ll be good to you! (Merry Christmas!) Be good, I mean the whole year thorugh! (Happy New Year!) Be good, and he’ll be Good….To You!
I Wonder Who is Santa Claus
I wonder who is Santa Claus And from what land he comes And where he gets so many toys, And such good sugar plums From his cold home in ice bound land Where reindeer swiftly fly He travels all around the world In just one single night. He wears a coat, a cap of fur At least that’s what they say, And he has winkling twinkling eyes With beard so long and grey He down the chimney softly sweeps Nor makes the slightest sound Brings whips to all bad boys and girls To good ones books and toys. Now Santa Claus was living When Grandma was young like me And now he must be getting old, So old perhaps he’ll die But what would children do without That kind and dear old friend Dear Santa Claus, we hope you live ‘till time it’s self will end!

Joy to the World
Joy to the world, the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King! Let ev’ry heart prepare him room, And Saints and angels sing, And Saints and angels sing, And Saints, and Saints and angels sing. Rejoice! Rejoice when Jesus reigns, And Saints their songs employ, While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy. No more will sin and sorrow grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He’ll come and make the blessings flow Far as the curse was found, Far as the curse was found, Far as, far as the curse was found. Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most High, While Israel spreads abroad Like stars that glitter in the sky, And ever worship God, And ever worship God, And ever, and ever worship God.
Picture a Christmas
Picture a stable in Judea. Picture a sacred, silent night. And can you hear The angels near And see the star so bright? Picture the little baby Jesus. Think of his life and words so dear. Sing praise to him; Remember him, As you picture Christmas this year. Picture the kind and gentle Joseph. Picture the mother, Mary, fair. And can you see So rev’rently The shepherds kneeling there? Picture the little baby Jesus. Think of his life and words so dear. Sing praise to him; Remember him, As you picture Christmas this year.
Pine Cones & Holly Berries
Pinecones and Holly Berries Popcorn for you, apples for me Red striped candy, nut cracker handy Kettle a-bubbling hot as can be. snow clouds hang low and threatening Maybe in won’t, praying it may the brightest fireplace glows in every face Waiting for Christmas day. There’ll be walk-a-round songs And talk-a-round songs Songs of the inn and stable. There’ll be morning time songs And evening time songs And grace at every table. And the Jingle bells will jingle all the way all day. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go; There’s a tree in the Grand Hotel, One in the park as well The sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas soon the bells will start And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing Right within your heart. (Repeat last verse as a round with 1st verse – Pine Cones coming in on the “ginning” beat of the “It’s beginning to look” last verse. End with a repeat of the last line, “Right within your heart!”)
Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful
Oh, come, all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant! Oh, come ye, oh come ye to Bethlehem. Come and behold him, Born the King of angels; Oh, come, let us adore him; Oh, come, let us adore him; Oh, come, let us adore him, Christ, the Lord. Sing, choirs of angels, Sing in exultation; Sing, all ye citizens of heav’n above! Glory to God, Glory in the highest; Yea, Lord, we greet thee, Born this happy morning; Jesus, to thee be all glory giv’n. Son of the Father, Now in flesh appearing;
O Little Town of Bethlehem
O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie. Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by; Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light. The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight. For Christ is born of Mary, And, gathered all above While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wond’ring love. O morning stars, together Proclaim the holy birth, And praises sing to God the King, And peace to men on earth. How silently, how silently The wondrous gift is giv’n! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of his heav’n. No ear may hear his coming; But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him, still The dear Christ enters in.
Once within a Lowly Stable
Once within a lowly stable, Where the sheep and oxen lay, A loving mother laid her baby In a manger filled with hay. Mary was the mother there, And the Christ that baby fair. God sent us this loving baby From his home in heav’n above, And he came down to show all people How to help and how to love. This is why the angels bright Sang for joy that Christmas night.
Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus
Said Samuel, “Within five years A night will be as day, And Baby Jesus will be born In a land far, far away.” Hosanna! Hosanna! Oh, let us gladly sing. How blessed that our Lord was born; Let earth receive her King! Across the sea, in Bethlehem, Lord Jesus came to earth As Samuel had prophesied, And angels sang His birth.
The Shepherd’s Carol
Mary, Mary, hush, see the Child. Joseph, Joseph, look, see how mild! This is Jesus; this is our King. This is our Savior; his praises we sing. All God’s children, come to adore, Bringing gifts of love evermore.
Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and Child. Holy Infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace; Sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night! Holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight! Glories stream from heaven afar; Heav’nly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ, the Savior, is born! Christ, the Savior, is born! Silent night! Holy night! Son of God, love’s pure light Radiant beams from thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth; Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing Ring ting tingle-ing too Come on, it’s lovely weather For a sleigh ride together with you Outside the snow is falling And friends are calling “You Hoo” Come on, it’s lovely weather For a sleigh ride together with you Giddy-yap giddy-yap giddy-yap let’s go Let’s look at the snow We’re riding in a wonderland of snow Giddy-yap giddy-yap giddy-yap it’s grand Just holding your hand We’re gliding along with the song Of a wintry fairy land Our cheeks are nice and rosy And comfy cozy are we We’re snuggled up together like two Birds of a feather would be Let’s take the road before us And sing a chorus or two Come on, it’s lovely weather For a sleigh ride together with you There’s a birthday party at the home of Farmer Gray It’ll be the perfect ending of a perfect day We’ll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop At the fireplace while we watch the chestnuts pop Pop! Pop! Pop! There’s a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy When they pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie It’ll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives These wonderful things are the things We remember all through our lives
Stars Were Gleaming
Stars were gleaming, shepherds dreaming; And the night was dark and chill. Angels’ story rang with glory; Shepherds heard it on the hill. Ah, that singing! Hear it ringing, Earthward winging, Christmas bringing! Hearken! We can hear it still! See the clearness and the nearness Of the blessed Christmas star, Leading, guiding; wise men riding Through the desert dark and far. Lovely showing, shining, growing, Onward going, gleaming, glowing, Leading still, our Christmas star!
When Joseph Went to Bethlehem
When Joseph went to Bethlehem, I think he took great care To place his tools and close his shop and leave no shavings there. He urged the donkey forward then, with Mary on its back, And carried bread and goat cheese in a little linen sack. I think there at the busy inn that he was meek and mild And awed to be the guardian of Mary’s sacred child Perhaps all through the chilly hours he smoothed the swaddling bands, And Jesus felt the quiet strength of Joseph’s gentle hands. And close beside the manger bed, he dimmed the lantern’s light And held the little Jesus close upon that holy night.
With Wondering Awe
With wond’ring awe the wise men saw The star in heaven springing, And with delight, in peaceful night, They heard the angels singing: Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna to his name! By light of star they traveled far To seek the lowly manger, A humble bed wherein was laid The wondrous little Stranger. And still is found, the world around, The old and hallowed story, And still is sung in ev’ry tongue The angels’ song of glory: The heav’nly star its rays afar On ev’ry land is throwing, And shall not cease till holy peace In all the earth is growing
